First up, you will see this WELCOME screen. Don’t worry, this won’t be so hard to do. It will take some time, but once you get into the installer, you need to set it up the right way. If you get kernel panic, you can insert some necessary bootflags before pressing enter. Still using your keyboard, choose Niresh Mavericks and press Enter. Your laptop should boot straight to Niresh’s bootloader. After you save and exit from the BIOS, your laptop will restart itself and boot in Legacy Mode/Boot. You’re set! Now save and exit from the BIOS menu and let it boot from your USB (make sure your USB is plugged in). After you arrange the USB to boot first, you need to change the UEFI to Legacy Boot. Here, you will need to make your USB on the top of the list (so it will first boot from your USB instead of straight to the HDD). Now change the SATA to AHCI, then change the Graphic card from Switchable to Integrated (this will disable the NVidia Graphic card). Once you get into the BIOS menu, navigate to ADVANCE tab (you cannot use your mouse or trackpad here, so use your keyboard to navigate). So if F2 doesn’t get you to the BIOS menu, then you might want to research for it first. When your computer boot, from blank screen until it shows ACER logo, press F2 repeatedly to get into the BIOS menu.Įvery laptops or models has different key to get into the BIOS. Since this model has UEFI bootloader, we need to change it to LEGACY BOOT through the BIOS. This part is a little tricky for this laptop (well not-so-tricky though). Once it finishes, reboot your computer (without unplugging it) Wait until it successfully written onto your USB drive. Once you find the DMG file, open it and simply click on WRITE to start writing it onto your USB drive. This will allow you to show the DMG file. Now, click on the blue folder icon.īefore you navigate to the Niresh-Mavericks.dmg folder, you will need to change the type from *IMG to All Files. Make sure the drive letter is pointing to your USB flash drive. Run Win32DiskImager, you’ll find a blue folder and a drive letter. Put Niresh-Mavericks.dmg file in a folder that is easy to find (ex.
